Toddlers:
Ages twelve months through three years, six months
Moving out into the world,
beyond the primary relationships of their family
and caregivers, toddlers are gently introduced
to their first learning experiences. They begin
school with the presence of a parent/caregiver
in the classroom. As the children become more comfortable
in their surroundings, our nurturing teachers help
them ask for what they need and want; thereby encouraging
and supporting each child’s emerging self.
A toddler’s daily classroom experience is
filled with stimulating materials, such as blocks,
puzzles, paints, clay, and water play, in addition
to group activities that include pets, snack, stories,
gym, and songs. Parents and caregivers have the
opportunity, firsthand, to learn about child development
so that they may help their children through the
varied ages and stages.
