Virginia O’Hanlon Celebration

In celebration of Virginia O’Hanlon, we hold an annual event at school in early December each year.

The Virginia Celebration brings together our students, their families, and friends of the school from the wider community to play the roles of Virginia and Francis Pharcellus Church in reading the famous letter and editorial. The Studio School community has been honored to host several members of Virginia O’Hanlon’s extended family, as well as other celebrated guests. It is customary for the chorus to perform, have a craft fair, and other festive seasonal activities.

We are all uplifted by the knowledge that our school has its home where, as a child, Virginia’s question inspired an answer that has lived in the hearts of millions of children and adults for more than a century.
