Creative and exciting experiences for the whole family.
In 2007, The Studio School moved into our current building, two townhouses renovated and designed to complement Studio's approach and curricula.
The Studio School’s building on West 95th Street was home to 8-year-old Virginia O’Hanlon when she wrote a letter to The New York Sun that resulted in the 1897 editorial, “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus!”
In honor of Virginia and this special historic connection, The Studio School established the Virginia O’Hanlon Scholarship Fund in 2009. The Fund provides need-based scholarships for students of merit, and honors not only Virginia’s personal quest for truth and knowledge, but also her life as an educator and advocate for children.
In Kitchen Science, students, ages 4-14, help to cook and serve delicious and healthy lunches daily for our whole community. We use natural, unprocessed ingredients in our recipes from all around the globe. Our food waste is composted through the Organics Collection Program.
The Studio School partners with parents and guides them in promoting their child's well-being and academic growth.
Our school-wide events engage all members and are inspired by the magnificent diversity of our community.
The Studio School is committed to creating an equitable community that celebrates the richness of life and the common bonds of all humanity. We are dedicated to teaching students and involving their families in a non-judgmental and heterogeneous way regardless of race or color, socio-economic status, religion, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, national origins, disability, learning abilities, and family composition.
